Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) isn’t just about electricity—it’s about community. Since 1937, we’ve been powering homes and businesses with reliable, sustainable, and affordable energy. But here’s what makes us different: we’re owned by the people we serve. That means no big-city shareholders calling the shots—just local members like you. Many of our team members live right here, so we truly get what our community needs.
We’re more than an energy provider—we’re a community builder. PPCS creates jobs, invests locally, and gives back through programs like Pierce Pepin Cares, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Operation Round-Up, and Youth Leadership Conference. These aren’t just names—they’re ways we make life better for everyone around us.
Our leadership? It’s local too. Nine board members—your neighbors—are elected by members like you. They serve three-year terms, and you get a say at our annual meeting every spring. That’s real community power.
Here’s something cool: when we make extra revenue, it doesn’t go to some far-off investor. It comes back to you through capital credits. That’s the cooperative difference.
We follow the same seven principles that guide co-ops everywhere, but we also think big. While we serve over 7,050 members across Pierce County and parts of Pepin, St. Croix, and Buffalo counties, we’re part of a nationwide network of electric co-ops. Together, we tackle big challenges—like restoring power after major storms and building new tech to keep us all connected.
Innovation is in our DNA. In 2021, we launched SwiftCurrent Connect to bring high-speed fiber internet to rural western Wisconsin. Because staying connected matters.
The best part? We’re creating something new while holding on to the values that make our community strong. That’s what drives us—and you’re part of it. Together, we’re making this a place we’re proud to call home.
That’s the energy behind Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services.
