Nicky Thompson is Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services’ Live Better Community Service Award winner for the first quarter of 2019. Thompson received the award and a $100 Visa® gift card on January 3 for her generous work as a volunteer with the Backpack Program with Our Neighbors’ Place in River Falls, Wis.  Thompson has been a volunteer with Our Neighbors’ Place since 2014.  She is the current coordinator for the Backpack Program and is responsible for ordering all the food, coordinating volunteers, packing the backpacks and delivering every week to local schools.  She also handles the menu planning and reporting.

“Nicky is vital to the success of this program,” said Shelly Smith, Program Coordinator, Our Neighbors’ Place.  “She volunteers with a wonderfully positive attitude.”

Thompson is the clerk for the town of Kinnickinnic.  In her spare time, she enjoys family time with her husband and four children, especially camping trips.
