Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services (PPCS) recently announced grants for three local charitable organizations.  PPCS members made these grants possible through their support of the co-op’s Operation Round Up® program. Grants were approved in the amount of $1,000 each at the cooperative’s October board meeting:  Ellsworth Gift Box program to provide gifts and needed items at the holidays to families in Ellsworth School District; Pierce County Friends of the Fair, Inc. for unexpected fair expenses to upgrade wireless audio; and St. Croix Valley SART, Inc. to assist with ongoing technical and software support for their pediatric forensic camera system.

“The needs in our local communities are diverse. These donations will impact citizens spanning all ages and improve their lives,” said Nate Boettcher, PPCS’ president and CEO.  “We are very thankful for the generosity of our members who participate in Operation Round Up®.”

Operation Round Up® is funded by participating PPCS members who round up their electric bills to the nearest dollar each month or donate a specific dollar amount.  Charitable contributions are approved for nonprofit organizations that offer programs and support projects to enhance the quality of life for those within the communities served by the cooperative.

Operation Round Up® grants are awarded quarterly by the Pierce Pepin Cooperative Services board of directors. Nonprofit organizations interested in applying may visit www.piercepepin.coop or call 800-924-2133 for information. The next application deadline is December 15.
